If you're reading this review, you're most likely doing research and trying to decide between the Keurig line (B40,B50,B60), the Tassimo, or the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig is the best looking, the most durable, has the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The Tassimo's versatility is tempting, but variety of coffees is lacking, the machine is a first-run model that does not feel as quality as the Keurig (I could barely find a piece of metal in the entire thing), and it cannot be set to warm itself up like the Keurig. The Senseo isn't bad and I may even consider getting it as a second machine, but it is kind of lame how you need two pods to brew an 8 oz cup of coffee. Considering the price of pods that I was looking at, it would outprice both the Keurig and the Tassimo for daily usage.
Between the Keurig models, I spent a lot of time trying to decide and eventually went with the B60, mainly because the B60 is the only model that brews 3 different sizes of coffee--5.25, 7.25, and 9.25oz. The B50, a favorite amongst shoppers, does not offer the 9.25oz size. This large size allows my Oxo travel mug to almost completely fill after using one Extra Bold K-cup. As an added benefit of the B60, you get beautiful blue LEDs behind the display and the water tank, as well as a polished chrome handle and polished chrome outer-ring to the display. It looks very modern and very classy in my otherwise boring kitchen. Highly recommended. |

Great coffee maker that makes a good cup of coffee and a good cup of tea. If you're exceptionally picky about your coffee, you might be disappointed since it does not rival a well-made fresh ground cup of joe, but the Keurig allows you to brew a good cup of coffee and tailor it to your specific tastes. My wife likes decaf and I like strong caffeinated coffee, so this offers the ability to make everyone happy. The selection of k-cups for both tea and coffee is much better than other single cup systems. The coffee from Timothy's is my favorite, especially the ultra dark roasts. The other plus for this unit over the other pod systems is that you can purchase a small filter which allows you to use your OWN custom ground coffee and blends. Good selection of teas from Twinings and Celestial Seasonings. System brews a good cup of tea that is smooth and not bitter. The downside is that we haven't found a good local source and have had to buy from the internet from both Amazon and Ebay.

| Ebay allows you to buy individual k-cups so that you can sample different blends and brands before you buy the big boxes. Local stores have just a few brands and don't reflect the much larger variety available for the Keurig system vice the other pod systems. We're glad we bought this unit! |

I hadn't planned on buying a $200 coffee maker, but despite having squandered $35 on a lesser machine (manufactured by the once-venerable "initial-ampersand-initial" company) and some dreadful supermarket coffee pods to go with it, I was hooked on the concept of single-serve: no muss, no fuss - and terrific coffee, hot and fast. As I tried to decide how to proceed, I happened to win one of these Keurig B-60's in an on-line drawing on one of the better-known single-serve sites. The machine arrived within days, along with four large boxes of Green Mountain k-cups in various flavors, enough to invite half of our small Texas town over for coffee and have some left over.
I am VERY impressed with this machine, which is beautifully and wonderfully made. You won't be embarrassed to leave this one sitting on a marble counter in your beautiful custom kitchen. In fact, the Keurig B-60 seems to dignify its surroundings; if your kitchen's something short of custom, you'll want to design a new one around it. To sum up: great coffee, from a lovely, well made, quiet, and easy to operate machine. If only everything worked this well and looked this good.... |
