Lives Up To The Hype!

Bodum Chambord 3-Cup Coffee Press

Customer Reviewer and Rating: Lynn B. - 5 Stars
I was given my first Bodum Chambord 8-Cup Coffee Press as a gift. I confess, I was totally skeptical when I tried my first cup. Fortunately, I was amazed from the very first dark, rich sip. EUREKA! Coffee made from a coffee press is FAR superior tasting to coffee made in an electric drip coffee maker (the taste is only rivaled by the yummy lattes pulled by my local barrista). While the Bodum press is simply and beautifully designed, its most outstanding feature is its sturdiness.

Other coffee presses I have come in contact with have easily fallen apart when faced with coffee that is ground a little too finely or a slippery-fingered dishwasher. The press is simple to use, cleans up easily with hot, soapy water, and looks lovely sitting on my counter. It is also my favorite gift to give coffee lovers.

Fast, Easy, And Delicious

Stainless Steel French Press Coffee Makers

Customer Reviewer and Rating: Peter Toolan - 5 Stars
This product is nothing short of extraordinary. I've been a coffee drinker all of my life, and thought the only choices were brewing a full pot or making instant. Boy, was I mistaken. The product is simple: buy some coffee ground coarse, so the grinds don't flow through the steel mesh filter. Then, pour a few tablespoons of grinds in the container. Add hot water, let sit for a minute or two, and slowly press down. What your left with is a great tasting cup of coffee. If you're used to fresh-brewed, this will be a tiny bit different. At the bottom of your cup you'll find some very fine residue. But this is very fine indeed. One other difference - it will taste better. I believe it's been said that you get more flavor because you retain all of the oils in the bean.

Cleaning the product is pretty easy. Just rinse the filter and scoop out the grinds. It's not a perfect system - cleaning grinds out of the glass container takes a long spoon and a good rinse. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this product. It's fast, easy, delicious, and cheap. You will not be disappointed.

Worth The Extra Work

Best French Press Coffee Makers

Coffee presses work pretty much the same way. I like Bodum presses because they have yet to let me down. If you're going to get one (and you should)spurge a little and get a nice one. You will be happier that you did. My first was a plastic one and the plastic would expand and contract when I poured in hot liquid which made the thing feel unsturdy--even though it wasn't.

Then I got this one and it's great for just $30. Even if you REALLY spurge and get a $60 press, the glass beakers are replaceable should you ever break yours. So why a press? It is a lot more work...you have to boil water, steep, press, then dump out used grinds and wash your press right after each use. But coffee presses allow the natural coffee bean oils, which are extremely aromatic, to stay in the coffee...and not get wicked away by the paper liners/filters. Your coffee is richer and more flavorful. Who wouldn't want that?
