Espressos And Cappuccinos Beat A Coffee Any Day

DeLonghi EC5 Steam-Driven 4-Cup Black Espresso and Cappuccino Maker

Customer Reviewer and Rating: Patricia Power - 5 Stars
I believe this is my fifth espresso and cappuccino maker (I have worn out the previous four) and this DeLonghi EC5 is by far the best one. It is easy to use, easy to clean, takes up little counter space, while producing the best espressos, cappuccinos and mochas I've made using a Steam-Driven home brewing system. I don't even bother using the glass carafe anymore except to measure and pour the correct amount of water into the machine.

I put my favorite cup directly under the filter when I make an espresso, latte or mocha for myself and if a friend joins me I put two cups under the double spouts of the extended filter, which sits lower, allowing me to make two at the same time while foaming the milk. It saves time, makes less mess, and warms the cups at the same time. Perfect for those cold winter mornings allowing me more time to relax and enjoy a hot beverage while visiting with a friend. Less mess, less fuss, less time, and my friends and I believe it produces the best beverage yet while allowing us more time to visit.

Best Value For Espresso

Delonghi Combination Cappuccino Coffee Maker

Customer Reviewer and Rating: P. Newcomb - 5 Stars
After working at Starbucks and getting free espresso drinks for 4 years, I needed an espresso machine to support my habit. This one was the most affordable with the best reviews, and so we went with it. I am so impressed! First of all, don't follow the directions on steaming the milk, instead of moving the pitcher up and down just keep the tip of the steam wand right below the surface of the milk. It should just barely look like the surface is stirring. If you have too many bubbles pull the wand out slightly at an angle. That will make foam instead of bubbles. The quality of the espresso shot isn't the best, so if you drink straight espresso I wouldn't recommend this. But for lattes, cappuccinos, or flavored americanos, it's so worth it. The money we're saving is great. (Even for a pro barista like me it took a few tries to get it right to make two at a time, so don't get discouraged at first!) I love this machine! Had it a couple months now and it's still working great. Makes a good cup of espresso for the price.

The wand is usable, it just takes some experimenting to get the timing right. I have no trouble getting a cup in place to froth milk. It is sturdy and has a nice well put together look and feel to it. It's very stylish, but takes up less room on the counter than my old drip machine. I will admit there are better machines on the market, but they cost a whole lot more too. While I love my espresso I'm not a coffee snob by any means. For my needs and for the price I believe this is a great bargain. It comes with pretty specific instructions, including cleaning instructions. I wonder if some of the people who have complained about the machine slowing down or not working have bothered cleaning the machine periodically? And like someone else, I can't find a rubber gasket on the machine period. It's just a joy to use and makes decaf drinkable.

Great Little Espresso Maker And Money Saver

I got this as a birthday present (my 56th). I have wanted an espresso machine for a long time. The cost however, was prohibitive. This little machine is under $50.00 USD. Don't let the low price put you off. It makes some mighty fine espresso and cappuccino. It's very easy to use. The only thing I don't like about it is the lid for the espresso pot. If you use the lid (and you don't really have to) it makes getting the pot under the filter clumsy. I've been using illa coffee in the machine. Makes a good cup of espresso every time. If you are a cappuccino lover this maker is the one for you!

Not just great looking on your kitchen or dinning room counter but it also makes a great cup of coffee. There is probably not a better espresso machine in existence for the money! Sure you can spend a few hundred dollars, but with this little gem, there is no need. I am very happy with this purchase- it is a solid machine that is easy to use and one heck of a great cup of espresso. That's my opinion, but it could be the caffeine talking- ha ha ha! Buy it!
