I purchased this little machine to be used on my office desk. After a week of daily work day use, I have no major complaints. The only thing missing that would make it over the top is a thermal stainless carafe. I have not had any problems with leaking from around the top or poor, metallic taste which might be more attributable to one's water source. We have bottled water here, and I am quite devoted to my Starbuck's coffee. I had considered buying a permanent filter, but I find the paper ones much easier to simply toss for clean up, and they aren't that expensive.
The 30 minute automatic off can be a blessing and a curse; it keeps me from forgetting to turn the machine off, but sometimes it turns itself off before I've finished the pot, but that's not a big deal as I just hit the switch to turn it on again to fire up the heat. A full pot makes at least 2 good mug servings for me, and that's really all I need in the morning. I am very pleased with this machine; I use an old 4 cup Mr. Coffee machine at home which works well, but I like the more straight up, compact design of this one for my desk top. |

I recently bought this coffeemaker when my Black and Decker gave out after just one year (again!). I've owned many coffee pots over the years, and this one is the best yet! For a simple, cheap, coffee pot, I couldn't ask for anything better. (If you want more, you have to spend more.) The coffee is piping hot, tastes great, uses less coffee, and makes a perfect two regular-sized mugs-worth. I like that I don't have to worry about the kids breaking a glass pot when they do dishes, it has a nifty stair-step fill-line in the reservoir that matches the amount listed on the pot (most don't), it has a handy handle for pulling up the filter container, and if there is some sort of overflow on the filter, they've engineered it so the water goes back into the reservoir (most just overflow), and the stopper works perfectly to sneak a cup if you want to without that aggravating "catching" or spilling most do.

| It does take a little longer than my last one to brew, but that's a good thing - it means the coffee has more flavor. I've NEVER had any problems pouring, unlike every other coffee pot I've ever owned or used. Considering my family's great luck with Cuisinart products in the past, I have no worries of it going out any time soon, either. The only things I can think of to improve it are to make a brighter "on" light, make the cord a bit longer, and include a permanent filter. |
Best Of The 4 Cuppers

Cuisinart did it again! I bought this because I wanted a coffee maker for work that had an auto shutoff. They all make coffee but so few have the shutoff. This unit shuts itself off after 1/2 hour, which is perfect - the coffee is not ruined beyond hope by then and the workplace is secure from conflagration. In addition, it makes great coffee - of course that is dependent on the coffee and the amount you put in. I like it strong. I was afraid it would spew coffee on the inside as it brewed, which is what the Melitta of almost the same design does, and I was afraid it might leak, which the Mr. Coffee tends to do.
I have owned the 4-cupper in those two brands, as well as a couple others. I don't find the carafe a problem, nor do I find the water reservoir a problem. The aforementioned brands each had their own quirks as well. In fact this one has the best reservoir fill procedure of all that I have owned. I like that it has no glitz. Just make the coffee and in half an hour it shuts down. Perfect. |
